The Lagos State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has expressed its heartfelt congratulations to esteemed sports reporter and football chronicler, Kunle Solaja, for his extraordinary accomplishment of reporting on every FIFA World Cup event from Italia ’90 in 1990 up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup taking place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
In a message signed by its Secretary, Comrade Omotunde Bello, Lagos SWAN characterized this achievement as a testament to over thirty years of commitment, professionalism, reliability, and excellence in the realm of sports journalism.
Lagos SWAN though its chairman, Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni emphasized that Solaja’s remarkable input has not only chronicled the tale of football’s premier competition but has also motivated countless sports journalists across Nigeria and beyond.
Lagos SWAN lauded Solaja for establishing an extraordinary benchmark of dedication and journalistic quality, noting that his enthusiasm for football and his contributions to sports news have consistently showcased Nigeria in a positive light on the international scene.
