The ACEDHARS Building inside the University of Lagos in Akoka was a beehive of activities on Friday 31 October 2025 when students, parents, officials and well-wishers gathered to celebrate 60 young ladies who have passed through intensive digital training organised by the Ooni of Ife’s Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Hopesalive Initiative for Africa (HAI) and the French Embassy.
The program, SheLevate Tech Digital Empowerment Bootcamp, has been one of the programs of HAI to give girls from the vulnerable backgrounds a career in technology.
The newly graduated Digital Queens were given special training on Word Press Web Design, Frontend Web Development, Backend Development (Python/Django), UI/UX Design (Product Design), Data Analytics and Digital Marketing.

Deputy Convener of HAI, Her Regal Majesty, Ambassador Dr Queen Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi said the program has been a story of resilience, collaboration, and impact, made possible through the generous support of the French Embassy in Nigeria under the FEF-CSO Grant. This partnership has reaffirmed our belief that when purpose meets partnership, true development happens.
“What we celebrate today is a transformation of mindset, confidence and vision. Each of these young women now carries the power to innovate, to inspire and to influence the world around them
“I am incredibly proud of you girls. You started this journey as learners, and today, you stand as leaders. The future is calling you to create, to innovate and to use technology as a force for good.
“Remember, SheLevate Tech was never just about coding or design; it was about
discovering your power, the power to build, to lead, and to elevate others as you rise,” she said.
The Queen also praised the support the program has been receiving from His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan-Ogunwusi.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende Abubakre, a special guest at the graduation ceremony, advised the Digital Queens to make use of the opportunity available to them as they begin their career in tech development.
The Commissioner enjoined the Digital Queens to own and take the digital space with pride. According to him, the ladies have made a good choice in taking a career in the digital space which would change their fortune in life.
Awards of recognition for outstanding performance, gifts and cash were given to some of the ladies who distinguished themselves during the training facilitated by Edunity.ng with mentorship provided by She Code Africa.
