Mountain of Fire Ministry (MFM) Basketball Club of Lagos, IGP Queens, Sunshine Angels of Akure and First Bank Basketball Club started their campaign to reach the grand finale of the NBBF Nigeria Women’s Basketball League on a good note on Friday in Benin City.
MFM defeated Bayelsa Blue Whales by 37-34. It was 16-12 at halftime; the Olukoya girls increased their lead to end the third quarter at 28-19 points before closing the game at 37-34. This was despite a late fight back by the Bayelsa ladies.
The clash between First Bank Basketball Club and First Deep Water was a one-sided game as the Elephant ladies blue up Deep Water 47-19.
Another big win was recorded by IGP Queens over Kwara Falcons Women Basketball Club. It ended 52-27 points in favour of IGP Queens while Sunshine Angels beat Delta Force Basketball Club 49-40.
