After months of intense competition featuring 64 grassroots football clubs from across Lagos State, the 2026 JOF U-13 Football Tournament has reached its semi-final stage, with only four teams remaining in the race for the coveted title.
Organised by the Lagos State Grassroots Football Association and principally sponsored by JOF Nigeria Limited, a leading manufacturing and supply chain services company, the tournament has once again demonstrated its commitment to discovering and developing young football talents across the state.
The seventh edition of the competition attracted teams from 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), with a total of 84 matches played across three venues. Since its commencement on February 6, the tournament has provided a platform for hundreds of aspiring young footballers to showcase their skills and compete at a high level.
According to the Managing Director of JOF Nigeria Limited’s Transportation Division and Chairman of the JOF U-13 Football Tournament Organising Committee, Mr. Adeyinka Adetunji, this year’s competition has lived up to expectations as one of the most exciting editions since its inception.
He noted that the tournament continues to play a vital role in identifying promising young talents while strengthening grassroots football development in Lagos State.
The semi-final matches are scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 6, at the CMS Primary School Playing Ground in Bariga, Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Semi-Final Fixtures
1:00 p.m. – Soccer City FA, Iwaya vs. VI Foot FC, Ijora
2:00 p.m. – Ultimate FA, Coker vs. Fortune FA, Oshodi
With a place in the final at stake, the four teams will be aiming to take the next step toward glory in what promises to be an exciting day of youth football action.
Meanwhile, organisers have announced that a press conference will hold on Tuesday, June 16, at the corporate headquarters of JOF Nigeria Limited in Oregun, Ikeja.
The event will unveil the finalists of the 2026 tournament and provide details of the championship match, including the date, venue and awards to be presented at the grand finale.
As anticipation builds ahead of the semi-finals, stakeholders, football enthusiasts and talent scouts are expected to turn their attention to Bariga, where the next generation of football stars will continue their quest for success.
